Ministry of Labour focuses on struck bys
In September and October, the Ontario Ministry of Labour is focusing enforcement efforts on struck-by injuries caused by reversing equipment and vehicles on construction projects.
The two-month effort has two phases: In September the focus is on prevention education about the hazard. In October, inspectors will begin their enforcement campaign.
IHSA has resources to help prepare for this initiative, including our Struck by Hazards topic web page. Many of these resources are also available as a package you can order through IHSA. To order your struck-by resource kit, call 1-800-263-5024, or email IHSA.
