IHSA Safety Talk: Backing Vehicles

Every year, workers are killed and injured by backing vehicles and machinery. If you work in the homebuilding, ICI, heavy civil, or road building industry, you have an increased likelihood of getting struck by heavy equipment.

That’s why in September and October, the Ontario Ministry of Labour will be focusing inspections and education on backing vehicles on construction projects.

IHSA annual report now available

IHSA has published its 2017 Annual Report. The report outlines the association’s initiatives and accomplishments over the past year. New health and safety manual focuses on photovoltaic systems

Installing and maintaining photovoltaic (PV) systems can be high-risk work if the hazards are not recognized, assessed, and controlled or eliminated.

That’s why IHSA has created a new health and safety manual for workers, supervisors, employers, and designers who install or work around rooftop solar panels (i.e., PV systems).
