IHSA Safety Talk: Backing VehiclesEvery year, workers are killed and injured by backing vehicles and machinery. If you work in the homebuilding, ICI, heavy civil, or road building industry, you have an increased likelihood of getting struck by heavy equipment.
That’s why in September and October, the Ontario Ministry of Labour will be focusing inspections and education on backing vehicles on construction projects.

New health and safety manual focuses on photovoltaic systemsInstalling and maintaining photovoltaic (PV) systems can be high-risk work if the hazards are not recognized, assessed, and controlled or eliminated.
That’s why IHSA has created a new health and safety manual for workers, supervisors, employers, and designers who install or work around rooftop solar panels (i.e., PV systems).
