New Working at Heights Training Standard – from IHSA

The Ministry of Labour’s Chief Prevention Officer hasestablished a new training standard in Ontario forworking at heights. IHSA has embarked on an awareness campaign to ensure that our members know about the standard and that IHSA’sWorking at Heights program meets its requirements.

IHSA.ca MagazineThe current issue of IHSA.ca Magazine is dedicated to the new standard. It includes a brief history of its development, exactly what it involves, and interviews with the Chief Prevention Officer and representatives from various stakeholder groups. We’ve included a training schedule and information on the options for training providers. Click here for a look!

 

Poster 

A poster has been created help spread the word about the new training standard and to inform people that IHSA’s Working at Heights program meets the requirements of the standard. These posters will be distributed through the Labour-Management Network, to trade associations, to union locals and included in product orders to help get the message out. IHSA has secured ad space in a variety of industry magazines and websites.

 

Radio Campaign

IHSA has undertaken a province-wide radio campaign. Spots began airing on February 10 and continued for six weeks. They will start again on March 31 leading up to the Day of Mourning on April 28.
