Project Highlights
I-74 River Bridge
Ironworkers from Local 111 (Rock Island, Ill.) with P.J.R. and Associates (Campbell Hill, Ill.), Civil Constructors (East Moline, Ill.) and Lunda Construction (Black River Falls, Wis.) have started tying rebar on the I-74 River Bridge between Bettendorf and Moline. The 1.4 billion project is a joint venture of Iowa and Illinois Departments of Transportation. The complex project with many stages is on an aggressive, 3.5-year schedule, to be completed in 2020. The bridge will have two spans with four lanes and shoulders on each side, including a 14-foot bike path.
150 North Riverside
The Iron Wokers Local 63 in Chicago with Permasteelisa North America Corp. (Burr Ridge, Ill.), CK2 Contracting Inc. (Downers Grove, Ill.), Crown Corr Inc. (Gary Ind.), Specialty Construction, LLC (Lombard, Ill.), Christopher Glass & Aluminum, Inc. (Chicago) and Dorma Automatics (Lake Bluff, Ill.) built the 1.2 million-square foot, $450 million, 54-story, 150 North Riverside superstructure on the west bank of the Chicago River. The rippling texture of the stunning building façade was created by undulating fins affixed at each vertical mullion in the unitized curtain wall system. Over 100-foot tall grand lobby is surrounded by a structural glass fin wall system. The project generated approximately 70,000 regular and overtime work hours.
